My laptop was stuck in 'Getting ready to install updates. Do not turn off..' and I was finally able to get out of that. Then I was directed to look at the error messages in the update history. There were many. I am sending them here.
Windows 10 offers you the choice of when and how to get the latest updates to keep your device running smoothly and securely. To manage your options and see available updates, select Check for Windows updates. Or select the Start button, and then go to Settings Update & Security Windows Update.
Only 90% of the updates were installed. Then my l laptop was running very warm, with the fan whirring. (This laptop is 6 months old) but that has finally stopped. Several of the error messages were related to some incompatibility with Dell. I cannot send all of the error messages because the message is too long, but I think these will give you gist.
Any suggestions of how to avoid this and get the rest of my Microsoft updates to Windows 10? Thanks.
